Ramsey
obtained his Bachelor of Law degree (LLB) from the University of Jordan
in Jordan, Master of Laws degree (LLM) in International & European
law from the University of Aberdeen in the United Kingdom, and a second
Master of Laws degree (LLM) in Taxation from Wayne State University
in Detroit, Michigan. He also attended a one-year program in International
Law at the Institute of International Studies of the Universite de
Paris in Paris, France.
Before starting his U.S. Immigration
Law practice, Ramsey worked as a Legal Adviser for Arthur Andersen
& Co. in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, where he advised his North American
& European corporate clients on issues related to Middle Eastern
taxation and corporate matters.
In late 2000, Ramsey started practicing U.S.
Immigration Law in the Metropolitan Detroit area in Michigan. He has
successfully worked on hundreds of Labor Certification and RIR applications
for corporate and small business clients in Michigan and throughout
the United States. He has excellent experience in Non-Immigrant Employment
Visas (NIVs) such H1B1s, L1As, L1Bs and TNs. (under the North American
Free Trade Agreement – NAFTA) Ramsey
has also represented individual clients in all aspects of family
based immigration cases in front of the United States Citizenship
& Immigration Services (formerly known as INS) and various U.S.
Consulates abroad. He also represented clients in deportation proceedings
in front of Immigration Courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
Ramsey is admitted to practice in Michigan and all
Federal Courts. He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers'
Association (AILA), State Bar of Michigan, the American Bar Association,
and the Royal Institute for International Studies in London, United
Kingdom. He is the author of several articles in Immigration Law,
International Law and International Affairs, including the AILA
Visa Processing Guide for U.S. Consulates in Amman, Jordan, and
Damascus, Syria (2004-05 Edition). Ramsey is fluent in Arabic and
